Facebook Bans Signal’s Ad Account Signal used Facebook’s advertising platform to buy some Instagram ads. Through these ads, the company displayed information collected about the viewer. “You got this ad because you’re a K-pop-loving chemical engineer. This ad used your location to see you’re in Berlin. And you have a new baby and just moved. And you’re really feeling those pregnancy exercises lately,” reads one of those ads. Soon after this happened, Facebook disabled Signal’s ad account....

Now, for the uninitiated, Reels is a relatively new TikTok-like platform integrated into Instagram. It lets users create short, 30-second videos to share on the platform. Other users can then consume them in a vertical video-feed, much like in the now-banned-in-India app TikTok. IIT Professor Develops Revolutionary Bone-Regeneration Technology Ashok Kumar, a professor of bioscience and bioengineering at IIT Kanpur, led the project of developing the new bone-regeneration technology along with fellow professor Arun Kumar Teotia. The technology, which uses a ceramic-based mixture made with two chemicals, helps in bone regrowth in patients without needing to amputate an affected area. “Usually, in the case of bone TB or cancer, doctors have no option but to amputate the affected limb because there is no hope of bone regrowth....

India’s GSAT-24 Communication Satellite Launched For the uninitiated, GSAT-24 is a 24 Ku band communication satellite designed for Direct-To-Home (DTH) use cases. Weighing 4180 kg, the satellite has a mission life of 15 years. Notably, Tata’s direct broadcast satellite service arm Tata Play has leased the entire satellite capacity for the entire 15 years. With the GSAT-24, the NSIL is taking a demand-driven model. “‘Demand-driven’ mode basically means when the satellite is launched, one will know who the end customers are going to be and what’s the kind of utilization and commitment so that you have very effective utilization of this satellite capacity once it goes into orbit”, an NSIL official told PTI....

To start off, Intel has introduced the NUC M15 in two configurations – one with an 11th-gen Core i7 chip coupled with 16GB of RAM, and another with an 11th-gen Core i5 processor alongside 8GB of RAM.
