The anti-China sentiment fueled the growth of Samsung over this quarter. It managed to Trump Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme, and others to grab the top spot. I know, you don’t see OnePlus in the list below nor does it appear to be the top brand in the premium segment....

OSOM Unveils its First Smartphone – The OV1 In an exclusive interview with AndroidPolice, OSOM CEO Jason Keats shared a first look at the company’s first smartphone. Android 13 to Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP) for eSIM As Esper’s Mishaal Rahman reports, Google has implemented what it calls Multiple Enabled Profiles (MEP) on Android 13. Patented back in 2020, the technology allows a single eSIM element to connect to two different carriers at the same time. This way, the OEM doesn’t have to add two eSIM elements (which takes up space) or use a combination of eSIM and physical nano-SIM card slot to offer dual SIM functionality....

Here’s the Possible First Look of the Poco F4 A recent report has showcased the Poco F4 in multiple real-life images and from the looks of it, it looks pretty similar to the Redmi K40S and the Redmi K50 phones. The device is seen featuring a rectangular rear camera island with a circular bump for the cameras. The phone is painted in an attractive green color, which is also one of the colors of the Redmi K40S....

Now, for those unaware, Apple’s MagSafe charging system was initially developed by the company for its Mac line of products. The company discontinued the system with the release of MacBooks with USB-C ports. However, with the new iPhones, the tech giant brought back the charging technology for its mobile devices recently. So, the MagSafe charging system uses the power of magnets to connect accessories to the devices. With an array of magnets around the wireless charging coils of the new iPhones enable the MagSafe-compatible accessories, which come with a similar arrangement of magnets, to snap at the back of the devices....

The developer is said to be negotiating a new licensing agreement with an Indian gaming company. It will then transfer the rights to operate PUBG Mobile in India to a homegrown company to put the government’s security and privacy fears to rest. This will enable PUBG Mobile to completely cut ties with its Chinese developer for good. The Korean developer has now taken charge of the game’s publishing rights and only needs an Indian partner to handle distribution....

Realme has set up a dedicated microsite for the upcoming devices but it only shines a light on the Realme 7’s specs, which we are already familiar with. Now, it looks like Xiaomi is planning to launch four variants – Redmi Note 10 4G, Redmi Note 10 5G, Redmi Note 10 Pro 4G, and Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. So, as you can tell, there won’t be a Pro Max variant this time, like we saw with the Redmi Note 9 series. But, I’m excited to see the company unveil its first-ever 5G-enabled Redmi Note smartphone in India....

DogPhone Allows a Dog to Video Call their Owners! Aptly named the DogPhone, the device has been developed by Dr. Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas, a specialist in animal-computer interaction at the University of Glasgow’s School of Computing Science. She’s been working on various technologies to make the dog-human connection more real, and with the DogPhone, she wanted to “give dogs choices or options to do things for enrichment reasons.” Dr. Hirskyj-Douglas developed the DogPhone in collaboration with her colleagues from the Aalto University in Finland....

The new fridges will be available in 386-liter and 407-liter capacities in addition to the existing models that come in 244-litre, 265-litre, 314-litre, and 336-litre sizes. Both new models come with proprietary Samsung technologies, including Smart Convertible 5-in-1 Twin Cooling Plus and Digital Inverter. The devices also offer Stabilizer-free operation for better energy efficiency. Galaxy S23 Series Launch Expected in February In a recent report by Korea JoongAng Daily, a Samsung executive revealed that the Galaxy S23 series will launch in February, much like the Galaxy S22 phones. While a concrete date isn’t available, it is expected in the first week of February. It is said that the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2023 will be held in San Francisco, USA. To recall, a previous report hinted at the same launch timeline....

Geekbench Delists These Samsung Phones After the throttling issue came to light, Geekbench revealed its decision to delist four popular Galaxy S-series flagship devices via an official tweet. Geekbench has delisted the Galaxy S10, the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S21, and the Galaxy S22 lineups on the grounds of “benchmark manipulation.” These phones have been delisted from the Android Benchmark chart from the Geekbench Browser. Galaxy Z Flip 3 Pokemon Edition Introduced The new special edition of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has been introduced in South Korea and comes in a huge hamper. This includes the foldable phone painted in black, the Pikachu clear cover set with stickers (which can be customized), a Pokemon pouch with a lanyard strap, a Pikachu keychain, a Pokemon custom pack, and a Poke Ball-shaped stand. First reported by Android Police, several early Pixel 5 owners have taken to Google’s hardware forum and XDA to report gaps between the screen’s plastic bumper and the aluminum unibody. This does not affect the phone’s functionality. The display works perfectly fine. However, Pixel 5 carries an IP68 rating and the users are concerned about the water-resistance of their devices. This hardware defect seems to be affecting select users but the reports continue to pour in, especially on this Pixel support thread....
