AMD Product Roadmap Announced: Details During the event, AMD announced that its upcoming Ryzen 7000 CPUs based on the latest Zen 4 architecture will come out later this year. The Zen 4 CPU core is expected to power high-performance 5nm x86 CPUs that will offer a 25% improvement in per-watt-performance and 8-10% faster Instructions Per Clock (IPC). AMD will release the first desktop and server components based on the 5nm process later this year....

The gaming toolbar is not a finished feature and is still in its very early stages. Well-known XDA member Kieron Quinn (@Quinny899) did some reverse engineering to discover the hidden code for the “Gaming Dashboard” feature. While surfing through emails relating to the Apple vs Epic lawsuit, folks from The Verge recently discovered an email by Jobs that mentions the iPhone nano. The email dates back to October 2010 and contains an agenda for a strategy meeting. Under the meeting discussions section, there is a bullet point that clearly mentions the “iPhone nano plan” along with two sub-points. One of them mentions the “cost goals” of the device, while the other one states that “Jony”, presumably Apple’s former Chief Designer Jony Ive, would “show model (and/ or renderings)” of the iPhone nano....

ROG Phone 5: Launch Date Asus has created a landing page for the ROG Phone 5 launch event. The website does not mention the exact date but has a timer counting down to 10th March. This means the company’s next flagship arrives on 10th March at 7:00 PM Taipei time (4:30 PM IST). Last year, the gaming phone was announced globally at the same time. The website, this time around, mentions Berlin, New York, and Taipei but skips on India....

Now, if you have been out of the loop, Battlefield 2042 was initially announced at E3 2021 earlier this year. The title was supposed to come out on October 22. However, shortly after EA released the minimum and recommended system requirements for the title, it was delayed and the developer announced that Battlefield 2042 will be released globally on November 19. Now that the game has been released in the market, it seems like players did not like it as much....

Implications and Impacts of Internet Shutdowns According to the #KeepItOn coalition cited in the report, 931 shutdowns were reported between 2016 and 2021 in 74 countries. Of these shutdowns, some countries were blocking communications repeatedly and over long periods of time. Furthermore, the report mentions that at least 225 shutdowns were related to social, political, or economic grievances. “Shutdowns are powerful markers of deteriorating human rights situations. Over the past decade, they have tended to occur in particular contexts, including during periods of conflict or heightened political tensions, such as the periods surrounding elections or during large-scale protests,” states the report....

According to the report on a recent conference on the trends in the OTT sector in India, the industry is expected to grow from $1.9 billion in 2021 to $4.5 billion by 2026. Furthermore, the report highlighted the platforms that have the most number of subscribers in India and how they compare with each other in terms of market share. The report reveals that Disney+ Hotstar has the highest number of subscriptions due to its diverse offerings....

Vaccine Finder Tool on Facebook According to Facebook, the vaccine finder tool will be available in 17 languages and will start rolling out this week. Available in the COVID-19 Information Center of Facebook, you can view vaccine center locations along with their hours of operation in this tool. It will also highlight walk-in options for those older than 45 years and a link to the Cowin website. “Partnering with the Government of India, Facebook will begin rolling out this week its Vaccine Finder tool on the Facebook mobile app in India....

Facebook to Discontinue Location-Based Features Soon Facebook has reportedly started notifying users about the discontinuation of the features via a notification on its Android and iOS apps. A Twitterati recently took to the Elon Musk-owned platform to share a screenshot of the Facebook notification. Apple AR/ VR Headset to Use Memojis, SharePlay for FaceTime Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in his latest Power On newsletter, reports that the FaceTime experience with Apple’s long-rumored mixed-reality headset will rely on the company’s existing features like Memojis and SharePlay. Gurman suggests that FaceTiming with Apple’s headset, which is rumored to run on a new realityOS platform, may revolve around two of the company’s existing features, which are mentioned above. Now, for those unaware, Apple is allegedly developing a new realityOS or rOS platform to support its upcoming AR/ VR headset since 2017....

Google Tests Pitch-Black Dark Theme in Search According to a recent report, Google is currently testing a new pitch-black (color code #000000) dark theme for Search, replacing its older dark gray shade in the background of the search result pages.
