With this update, you can now easily filter unknown messages and spam messages on iPhones. After updating the app, you should head to Settings -> Messages -> Message Filtering (Unknown & Spam) and choose Truecaller under SMS Filtering to enable the feature. The move comes almost exactly a month and a half after a US court granted a preliminary injunction against a Trump administration order to ban the viral video-sharing app in the country. New Policy for VPN Providers in India Details The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India and the CERT-In recently announced the new policy for VPN providers in India via an official memo. The policy aims to give more power to CERT-In, which is responsible for monitoring cybercrimes in the country. “During the course of handling cyber incidents and interactions with the constituency, CERT-In has identified certain gaps causing hindrance in incident analysis,” the Indian government said in a statement....

For those unaware, WhatsApp started publishing monthly User Safety Reports to comply with India’s IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, earlier this year. In the report, WhatsApp details how many user grievances it receives and how many accounts it bans in India during a certain period. So, as per the recent report for the month of October, WhatsApp received 500 grievances from users, out of which 146 related to account support, 248 for ban appeals, 11 for safety, 53 for product support, and 11 for other support queries....
